Ann Becker is vice president of environmental and chief sustainability officer for Arizona Public Service Company (APS). Based in Phoenix, APS is Arizona’s largest electric company and serves nearly 1.2 million customers across the state. APS owns 6,394 megawatts of generation capacity (including coal, nuclear, gas, oil and solar).

Becker oversees the company’s strategic efforts to integrate sustainable practices into core business operations, as well as the company’s environmental and safety programs. She also is responsible for facilities management, transportation, corporate security, health services, corrective action and human performance.

Becker most recently served as associate general counsel in the Pinnacle West law department, with responsibility for the Environmental, Labor & Employment and Commercial legal teams. Prior to joining the Pinnacle West law department in 2001, Ann practiced with the law firm of Foley & Lardner in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Becker serves on the executive board of Central Arizona Shelter Services and on the board of the Downtown Phoenix Partnership. She also is the executive sponsor of Women in Search of Excellence, an APS employee networking group that promotes the professional and personal development of women in the company.

Becker graduated magna cum laude from Marquette University Law School in 1992 and from the University of Northern Iowa with highest honors in 1989.
