Dr. Delia S. Saenz is Vice Provost for International Education and Institutional Inclusion at Arizona State University. In this role, she oversees international programs such as Study Abroad and international exchange agreements, and is tasked with implementing the university’s diversity plan.

Dr. Saenz received her doctorate in Experimental Social Psychology from Princeton University, and holds a faculty appointment in the Psychology Department, and a research professorship in the Hispanic Research Center at ASU. Her research focuses on tokenism and gender inclusion, and has been cited for its innovation and contribution to the understanding of diversity in work groups. She has received grants from the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Mental Health, the Ford Foundation, the National Cancer Institute, and the WT Grant Foundation. Her research includes international dimensions. For example, in a project funded by the United States Agency for International Development, Dr. Saenz oversees gender inclusiveness for clean energy training that is delivered in developing countries. She also currently serves as the Diversity Director for QESST (Quantum Energy & Sustainable Solar Technologies), a new 10-year energy research center at Arizona State University funded by the National Science Foundation.

Beyond her contributions to scholarship and administration, Dr. Saenz has been recognized at both institutional and national levels for outstanding contributions to the teaching and mentoring of undergraduate students and graduate students of color. Dr. Saenz is a fellow and immediate past president of the Western Psychological Association.
