Ron moved back into Cigna’s Dental organization in June 2013 as the Vice President, Dental Market Insight. In this capacity, his responsibilities include working with Cigna’s dental senior leadership in formulating and implementing the company’s growth strategy, driving the company’s business intelligence and serving as the company spokesperson in industry associations. He has additional responsibility for Cigna’s communications to healthcare professionals that contract with the company’s dental and behavioral lines of businesses.
Prior to this, Ron served as Regional Marketing Officer for Cigna Healthcare’s west region beginning September 2009. Is this role he was tasked with driving the development and execution of strategic business plans and marketing activities in west markets to deliver competitively superior growth.
Ron’s experience with Cigna extends to additional roles as Regional Vice President for Cigna Dental starting July 2004, where he was responsible for managing a team of sales and service staff in the western and central United States. In all, Ron has worked at Cigna for 16 years in various positions including Regional Sales Support Director (Dental), Director of Provider Relations (Dental), and New Business Manager.
Previously, Ron worked at Texas True Choice as the Senior Vice President of Operations. His responsibilities included oversight of sales and account management, claims, customer service, data management, and all other aspects of the day-to-day operations of a medical PPO network.
Ron also worked at Safeguard Health Enterprises, Inc. where as Regional Vice President, he was responsible for profit and loss, and administration of the central region operations for the dental plan.
Ron began his career in the health insurance industry after obtaining a B.S. in Biology from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. Ron resides in Scottsdale, AZ, where he serves as a board member for the Arizona Diversity Council.
