“Motivating” describes Dr. Eula Saxon Dean as an administrator, instructor, trainer, and public speaker. She has been recognized as an Outstanding Education Visionary, recipient of the Outstanding Administrator of the Year Award, and a Governor’s appointment and recognition for service as a member of the Arizona Post Secondary Education Committee. She has also served as a Co-Host of the United Negro College Fund Telecast as well as hosted several National Teleconferences on community college leadership.

Dr. Dean earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics Education from Barber-Scotia College, her Master of Arts in Human Ecology from Cornell University, and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Northern California School of Law. She carries a body of education and law credential – teaching, supervisory and legal.

During most of her professional career history she has served as a college administrator, interim college president, college board member, master teacher/trainer; risk manager, EEOC officer and Charter School Administrator. Her many years of administrative work has included conflict resolution, mediation, sexual harassment investigations, job retention and career placement for continuing college students. She has practiced and modeled a participatory leadership style that welcomes diverse opinions.

Currently, she is the president of the Phoenix AKARAMA Foundation, Delta Beta Omega Chapter, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., member of The Greater Phoenix Urban League, and several local community service organizations. She resides in Scottsdale, Arizona and is actively engaged in a self-directed program of leadership and personal development. This time has allowed her the opportunity to remain focused on her desire to continue supporting the development of leadership skills in others.

Dr. Dean’s husband, George H. Dean is the CEO/President of the Greater Phoenix Urban League. Their daughter, Dr. Teresa Dean Malcolm is a Chief Medical Officer with Banner Medical Group. She is the proud Grandmother to three grandsons, Nathaniel, Colton and Roman.
